Metaport FAQ

Metaport is a mixed media storytelling platform built on a belief that stories connect us across time and place. We allow anyone, from professional historians to hobbyist genealogists, and anyone in between, to share their histories and stories to the world

Metaport strives to make our cities, buildings and places of interest a repository for memories, across all time periods, past and present. Your memories and histories will always be welcome

Metaport is now, and always will be, free to create stories, and free to read stories. No one ever asks you to pay them in order to share a story, and we don’t intend to do that either!

While there is always a chance that identity thieves can piece together details about you using any online footprint, Metaport’s use of profile names, instead of real names, intends to reduce this risk Please note that Metaport will NEVER ask for your password or login ID. If you feel your account has been compromised, please contact [email protected] immediately

Metaport intends to be a home for histories and stories, even the ones that we may not like However, if you feel that a post glorifies or incites violence, abuses or manipulates a user or group of people, or is willfully misleading or false. If you see content that violates these principles, please utilize the ‘Flag for Removal’ button on each story’s page Please view our Terms and Conditions for more information on Metaport’s position on content and moderation

The first person to post in a previously unnamed building has an ability to name that building or point of interest. If you believe that the building name needs a revision, please contact [email protected], and include documentation that supports your claim of an updated building name

As a relatively new platform, we want to ensure our platform experience stays as enjoyable for our users, for as long as possible. Utilizing invitations to slow adoption of Metaport will allow us to most closely monitor usage, and improve upon the UX in real-time

We are currently a storytelling only platform. However, if you feel that Metaport can support the history or story of your organization, please feel free to contact us at [email protected], so we may discuss further

Yes! We have already begun developing a mobile version of our platform. We expect more announcements later in 2024
