The capital and largest city of Barbados, Bridgetown (UN/LOCODE: BB BGI) is known locally as either "The City" or simply "Town". Bridgetown was formerly called The Town of Saint Michael and is located in the parish of Saint Michael. The metropolitan population of Bridgetown was estimated to be 110,000 in 2014.
