From A Self-Guided Tour of Saroyan’s San Francisco by Dori Myer "In the late 1920s, Saroyan worked here as a counter clerk and teletype operator. This is discussed in Places Where I’ve Done Time (Chapter 8), “A Writer’s Declaration” in The Whole Voyald and Other Stories (p. 8)" From San Francisco Access, 1991: "Page 44 This 1922 G. Albert Lansburgh-designed theater is part of the Shorenstein Nederlander empire. The management put a lot of money into refurbishing the house, and it shows in the gleaming interior. Unfortunately, sight lines in the orchestra remain poor, so try the mezzanine. The 2,400-seat theater books popular musical attractions such as the Rockettes, The Will Rogers Follies, and a revival of Hair."
