Ilulissat Icefjord

Located 250 km north of the Arctic Circle, Ilulissat Icefjord (Greenlandic: Ilulissat Kangerlua) stretches 40 km (25 mi) west from the Greenland ice sheet to Disko Bay near Ilulissat town. This stunning fjord was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004 due to its stunning beauty and the Jakobshavn Glacier's role in advancing our understanding of climate change caused by human activity.
