The Keystone Korner was among the top US jazz clubs in the 1970s and early 1980s. The 200-set venue hosted shows by greats like Miles Davis, McCoy Tyner, Pat Metheny, and Dexter Gordon, and live albums by icons like Art Blakey, Rahsaan Roland Kirk, and Mary Lou Williams were recorded here. In its early days, local rock stars like Boz Scaggs, the Pointer Sisters, and Jerry Garcia (playing with Merl Saunders) performed at the Keystone too, though it closed in 1983.
