My grandmother, Araxy Gokberk lived in this house for over 50 years! My mom and her 4 brothers grew up here. I would often hear stories of how the house was a gathering place for visiting Armenians in the area. I loved sitting on the porch and playing backgammon with my uncles, we would always have the best time! Due to the redevelopment plans, the house was always under threat of eminent domain, so we were always fearful the developers would take the house away. Sadly my grandmother passed away in 2013 and the house was sold a couple times since then. Recently the house has undergone some renovation and looks great!
