Frankel Leó út 11 is an apartment building in Budapest with two distinct facades. The facade facing Frankel Leó út (where the entrance is located) reflects a typical style. However, the facade facing Lipthay utca is an interesting blend of Neo-Renaissance and Art Nouveau elements. Designed by the renowned Hungarian architect Ignác Alpár, the building was constructed in 1898. Ignác Alpár (1855-1928) was a leading figure in Hungarian architecture at the turn of the 20th century. A master of the eclectic style, Alpár was known for incorporating elements from various historical periods into his designs. Arguably his most famous work is Vajdahunyad Castle, a sprawling complex in the Városliget that features architectural styles ranging from Roman to Baroque. Alpár also designed several other important buildings in Budapest, including the Hungarian National Bank and the Anker Palace.
