Nipisat Island

Nipisat Island, which is Kalaallisut for "Lumpfish" and is located in the Qeqqata municipality of western Greenland, is a small, uninhabited island that is situated 15 km (9.3 mi) south of Sisimiut near Davis Strait. It is part of a cluster of islets and skerries situated at the entrance of Ikertooq Fjord, immediately to the west of Sarfannguit Island. Dwarf scrub heath, dwarf birch, Arctic willow, well-drained lichens, and herb vegetation are the most common flora on the island.
