The owner of the house was Stepan Ananov (Ananyan), a well-known doctor in Tiflis. The monogram with his initials SA has been preserved on the house. At the beginning of the 20th century, this building housed the Bristol Hotel, which was run by Anastasia Kirtadze, the first Georgian female administrator in Tiflis. Then it functioned as furnished rooms, and in Soviet times - a residential building. In addition to the hotel, the lower floor housed Ivan Ishkhanov's (Ishkanyan) pharmacy, Nino Abuladze's flower shop, Buchinskaya's hat and cap shop, and Haut-bon-Marchet haberdashery.
