Some locals call the apartment building at Nagy Lajos Király útja 104 "Sing Sing" comparing it to a notorious U.S. prison. Unfortunately, the nickname fits because most of the apartments are empty, and the entrance is blocked to keep people out. Despite promises of fixing it up, nothing has happened yet, while a new building is going up nearby. Like other old housing projects from the 1920s and 1930s in places like Hős utca, Cserei utca, and Tárna utca, people living here have had a tough time. Even though politicians from different groups promised solutions, nothing has changed. Interestingly, this apartment building, built in the late 1920s, was made for the 'Soap factory supplying Hungarian railway workers' (Magyar vasutasokat ellátó szappangyár). The person who designed it, Zsigmond Sziklai, also designed the famous Párisi Nagyáruház store at Andrássy út 39.
